The first playground – the first friendships Ella is a two-tower play environment with play activities for up to 10-12 children aged 0-4 years. Ella might be one of the first pieces of playground equipment a child encounters. It is designed to encourage crawling, standing and walking. But it will also encourage children to start learning to express themselves and their wonderment, interact with others, practise their first words, handle their first conflicts, as well as establishing their first friendships and learning about basic social relations. Ella offers plenty of scope for fun and games, and supports the child’s natural development. Playgrounds can be used as educational tools The age-appropriate activities on Ella include movable flowers, butterflies and bees to stimulate children’s fine motor skills, and at the same time encourage discussions and language training. Ella also has a ‘mood panel’, with faces that can lead to deeper discussions about how the child is feeling. The other side of the panel is designed to encourage a talk about the weather: Here, the child can turn a red arrow to point it at different weather symbols, paving the way for a chat about summer activities or which clothes to wear to stay warm in winter.
A 3 mm rubber coating ensures a firm footing for children, even when it is raining and in frosty weather.
The posts are powder-coated in beautiful colours to match our theme worlds while also being protected from rust by hot-dip galvanising.
The play systems are easy to access either from the ground, via a crawling ramp or stairs. In this way, all children can participate.
The floor height is such that an adult can easily stand next to and support children while they are playing, and thus ensure that the children feel safe when exploring the play activities.
The polyethylene boards are 100% recyclable, and contain no hazardous chemicals. They are approved according to the specific requirements of both the EU Toy Safety Directive EN 71 and the US Food Directive.
Children use their major muscle groups and strengthen their gross motor skills when playing on the play equipment. Gross motor skills are vital for both their basic motor development as well as their fine motor skills.
Transparent polycarbonate adds extra fun for children as they see the world anew through the windows and domes. Polycarbonate is extremely impact-resistant, whatever the temperature. The material is also UV-protected to prevent the boards from fading when exposed to sunlight.
The play equipment offers ample opportunities for children to engage in cooperative play. It grows their social and language skills, which is key to developing relationships and friendships.
The slides are made of polyethylene, which is heat-resistant and therefore does not get too hot to touch in the sunshine.
The many moving parts support the development of children’s fine motor skills. Through the stimulation of their fine motor skills, children learn to make small precise movements which, among other things, make it easier for them to hold and control a pencil.
