The Inclusive Wheelchair Accessible Swing is designed to give wheelchair users a safe, comfortable and genuinely independent swinging experience. With a smooth roll-on, roll-off platform, users can enter the swing easily without transferring from their wheelchair, making it ideal for schools, councils, SEN settings and public playgrounds looking to create truly inclusive outdoor spaces. A built-in safety locking system prevents unauthorised use and keeps both the rider and surrounding children safe, while the stable, open design provides plenty of room to manoeuvre during loading and unloading. The swing includes an integrated five-point INTEGRADO Safety System, ensuring secure and controlled use in supervised environments. The Lock System prevents unauthorised operation, while the skid entry guide stabilises the wheelchair during boarding. An upper shock absorber limits excessive movement, and the hoop mechanism locks the ramp securely once closed. Rubber side bumpers protect nearby users within the gondola’s movement zone.
The user can set the swing in motion independently using the fitted ropes and can bring the swing to a stop safely. A key-operated lock can be added to restrict usage when required. Closing the entrance is achieved by pulling the ramp upward with the side chains and securing it with the handrail; to open, simply lift the rim that releases the ramp. The gondola includes a brake system that immobilises the platform during entry and exit.
For optimal safety and compliance, it is recommended to install a perimeter fence, information board, and key-lock security system around the swing area.
