We have a large range of Timber, Robinia and Steel slides which are designed to fit any playground, park or school. Always a popular choice, we offer standalone slides, tube slides and embankment slides for all ages and abilities. Our large range will appeal to children as they are fun and will give them a thrill as they whizz down. We also have slides within many of our Multiplay towers too but below you will find standalone slides for Commercial spaces. There are long slides, short slides and we even offer extra wide slides so that children can enjoy sliding together making it an inclusive, sociable activity too.

The benefits of a slide in your playground

Children get a better sense of their position and location when they slide, using proprioception. Sliding also helps to develop the vestibular system as they whizz down a slide and come to a stop quickly. This means that sliding can also improve balance too.

Climbing a ladder up to a slide also helps to develop the muscles in a child's arms and legs. Whilst waiting on a ladder their coordination is improved and it also helps with balance and spatial orientation

What type of Slide

There are many different types of slide to choose from. Some of our Multiplay systems have slides incorporated within them. There is a wide range to choose from including embankment slides.

Embankment slides are a real favourite within playgrounds and parks. Schools also like these as they provide a fun experience for children and it can also be used as a group activity. Wider slides can be used by multiple children creating a fun group activity.

Material Choice

We offer our slides for parks, playgrounds and schools in a wide range of materials to ensure that our slides fit into your space. Robinia Hardwood is becoming a more and more popular choice due to its durability and natural finish.

Robina is Aso known as False Acacia / Black Locust.

Robinia Pseudoacacia is a temperate hardwood with the resistance and durability typically found only in tropical hardwoods*. A native of North America, it is now grown widely throughout Europe especially in Hungary, Romania and Slovakia. The Latin name ‘Robinia’ honours a French gardener, Jean Robin, who introduced the tree from North America in about 1600.

Here are some interesting facts….

1. It is one of the most frequently cultivated deciduous trees in the world.
2. It is grown in a sustainable fashion - it’s a fast growing commercial crop.
3. Thanks to its resistance to abiotic and biotic influences, Robinia has a very special position amongst European woods.
4. Robinia is the only resistance class 1 wood variety that is cultivated in Europe, making it a very safe material and ideal for children’s playground equipment.
5. It will typically last in excess of 30 years in the ground without any form of preservative!
6. Unstained wood will age to a silver grey over time and will never need to be painted or stained in order to improve longevity.
7. As a member of the pea family it has nitrogen fixing nodules on its root system and so it can be used to colonise areas of extremely poor or previously contaminated soil.
