Inclusive Playground Design
Morti Sport & play feel that Inclusive design is a standard practice during the equipment choice phase of a project.
Watch the video below to see how inclusive equipment benefits children of all abilities - Lets playing together!
The joy of bringing children together through inclusive design is key in breaking down barriers that seldom exist between well grounded young children - much of this behaviour in our opinion is learnt. Inclusive play equipment teaches adults through observation to be more like our children and be more friendly to others resulting in the parent or carer often promoting such play encouraging further interaction between children of differing abilities.
Inclusive play aids child development allowing kids to enhance key skills such as interaction, emotion stabilisation whilst exploring thier imaginations through creativity which in turn aids cognitive growth.
Inclusive Play Equipment
We always work closely with our clients within our design to ensure that the space meets the needs of the local community ensuring that we accommodate the needs of all users of the space including the less able. We believe that children often don't access play spaces in the same way but they need the opportunity to go out and play. Every child is different so it's not possible to make every piece of equipment accessible to every child but it is possible to create a space that makes it an area for all children to enjoy together. If children are able to enjoy the space together this creates new opportunities for different types of play and a chance to socialise.
